After working in Data Engineering and Management for over 30 years, David joined Kubrick in April 2022. As a Principal Consultant, he brings his passion for innovation, experience of decades of change and emerging technologies, and personal learnings from past colleagues and mentors to help Kubrick’s smart, motivated, and hard-working consultants to take their first steps in Data Engineering.
David’s extensive career has taken him across industries, shaping data systems and tooling for organisations like British Airways, where he designed a fault tolerant distributed database configuration which served as the database layer of choice for their applications for over a decade, and Channel 4, where he designed the infrastructure for a Scrapbook web application which handled peaks of over 2000 page views per second and won the Online Media Award for technological Innovation in the year of its launch (2013). More recently, he worked for Microsoft as a Data Solution Architect designing solutions for customers on the Microsoft Azure Cloud, and prior to joining Kubrick he managed a team of Data and AI consultants at one of the UK's leading Microsoft Partners [New Signature, now Cognizant].
David is an advocate for the Kubrick model which benefits everyone: providing organisations with the most in-demand skills with minimal risk, whilst giving great training and career opportunities to our consultants. In a rapidly changing data and AI landscape, with a lowering cost of experimentation and innovation with the adoption of cloud, he is excited to see what the next generation of Data Scientists and Engineers we are training now are able to produce.
I feel privileged to be working with so many smart, positive, collaborative, and hardworking people at Kubrick. With such intelligence, curiosity, compassion, and humility, we are sure to achieve great things.David Burnham, Principal Consultant - Data Engineering
