After a successful Pride month, we are proud to announce that last Thursday we launched LGBTKubrick+, our first LGBTQ+ Employee Network!
We marked Pride Month with some sessions on Allyship, raised money for our Pride Month charity; Metro Spark, and volunteered at Youth Pride (US). Members across Kubrick also took part in the London Pride march for the first time on 1st July, which was a day full of love, excitement and unity, with plenty of cheering and flag waving along the way!
The aim of the LGBTKubrick+ network is to bring members of the LGBTQ+ community and allies together across the business to create a sense of community and a place for LGBTQ+ employees to get support and express concerns. The network is also designed to help raise awareness around ongoing issues and empower all employees to step up as allies, whilst ensuring we progress on lesbian, gay, bi and trans inclusion in the workplace.
During the event various members of the LGBTKubrick+ Team presented talks, allowing employees to learn about the networks mission and structure. The event was hybrid, connecting our new London office with our NYC office which enabled our US colleagues to also participate. After the talks there were opportunities to socialise over food and drinks which enabled attendees to start building our community and learn more about the network and what they hope to achieve in the next year.
"It was great to see so many people from across Kubrick join us for our launch event, in both our New York and London offices. Building a community which gives people the opportunity to be themselves at work is incredibly important, and we can't wait to bring together voices across our business to raise awareness for LGBTQ+ issues whilst driving inclusivity” Joe Woodman, Commercial Analytics Manager and member of Kubrick’s Diversity Champions Group. .
"I want everyone at Kubrick to be able to find and access space for support, belonging, affinity and allyship. That's why I am so excited about the launch of LGBTKubrick+, Kubrick's newest employee network group. LGBTKubrick+ aims to bring members of the LGBTQ+ community and allies together across our business to create a sense of community, a place for LGBTQ+ employees to get support and express concerns, a space to raise awareness and also to empower all employees to step up as allies and help hold Kubrick accountable to progress on lesbian, gay, bi and trans inclusion in the workplace. I can't wait to share what's coming next both for this community and the other communities we build." Dana James-Edwards, Head of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
“I am so proud to have been a part of the LGBTKubrick+ Launch! This network is a significant step in fostering an inclusive culture at Kubrick that values, celebrates and stands up for people who identify as LGBTQ+.I loved seeing so many of my colleagues show up as allies and advocates at the launch, and to go one step further and sign up to join the network. Looking forward, I am excited to see what this brilliant community achieves and can't wait to stand with them and bring a little extra sparkle to the world” Charlotte Clarke, Alumni Community Manager and member of Kubrick’s Diversity Champions Group.
We’d like to thank everyone that attended the launch as well as contributing to a successful Pride month and taken part in Kubrick's celebrations. We look forward to continuing to drive change which ensures our employees present and future feel welcome and accepted.
