The challenge
In the age of digitization, not-for-profit organizations have increasing volumes of data at their disposal to understand and improve their impact. However, as the cost and shortage of tech talent grows, the non-profit sector is challenged to find routes to unlock the power of data. Prometheus is an organization that empowers technology professionals to develop career-building skills, while helping not-for-profits leverage digital tools in a cost-effective way.
The solution
Kubrick partnered with Prometheus to connect 15 of their trained Data Product consultants with non-profits to address their most pressing challenges. Forming scrum teams to widen impact, they addressed 3 organizations’ requirements, spanning societal challenges including supporting veterans to transition to corporate jobs and increasing access to digital education in school systems.
Kubrick consultants delivered interactive dashboards that provided real time insights by gathering, cleansing, and aligning data to unlock new understanding through analytics and visualization. Consultants were also tasked with scoping current and future platform capability to create solutions which are user-friendly and meet the organization’s wider technology suite to increase adoption and support a cultural shift towards data-driven decision-making.
The results
Working at the intersection of technology and impact, Kubrick’s teams of consultants exercised the skills they gained in their 4-month training program to undertake requirements gathering, solution engineering, and product delivery. The project scopes created valuable tools for their non-profit clients to reduce manual processes and create efficiencies, as well as gain new insight into their impact and inform ongoing decision-making. Moreover, the partnership provided a unique opportunity for Kubrick consultants to enhance their skills and gain confidence and experience in senior stakeholder management to prepare for their upcoming client engagements.
