- 01
What happens if I am unable to complete the 2.5-year development programme?
In the event that you are unable to complete the 2.5-year development programme, we reserve the right to reclaim the cost of the training provided. The amount you are expected to repay is based on length of time since training. For instance, if you leave 6 months after finishing training, the repayment is 100% of the total cost of training, 80% after 6-12 months, 60% after 12-18 months, and 40% after 18-24 months.
- 02
How are the training costs calculated?
The training cost takes into account your salary during the 15 weeks of training, the length of our training, the cost of our training team, and the infrastructure to support you during training and while on client placement.
We would simply be unable to continue operating in our business model, where you are paid solely to train for 4 months, if we did not have such an agreement in place.
- 03
Are there any instances where the training agreement may not apply?
We understand that people leave training programmes for a wide variety of reasons, and we carefully assess every individual’s circumstances before deciding whether or not to ask them to pay a portion of the costs related to the 15-weeks training they received.
We also have 2-week “cooling off” period in our employment contracts, meaning that if you were to leave within the first 2 weeks of training you will not required to repay any of the training agreement costs.
- 04
How transparent are we regarding the training agreement?
We are fully transparent about our model and training agreement. We will ask you to read a clearly explained FAQ sheet and sign the agreement prior to joining, to ensure you have all the knowledge and information required before deciding.
We also understand that our model may not be for everyone so please consider this carefully before applying to join Kubrick.
Application process
- 01
Apply
To submit your application, you must complete all required fields of the application form. Please ensure you select the correct form based on your residing country.
- 02
Video interview and assessments
At the first stage of the process, you will be invited to record a video of yourself answering 6 questions via our online assessment platform. You will be given an opportunity to prepare your response before answering each question, and can re-record your response if you aren’t happy with your first answer.
In the same platform as the video interview, you will need to complete two timed multiple-choice assessments testing your logical thinking skills and commercial acumen.
You will have five days to complete the video interview and assessments post receipt of invitation. More guidance on how to complete the video will be given when you log into the platform.
- 03
Final interview
If you reach the final stage of the process, you will be invited to complete a virtual interview with one of our resourcing team members. The purpose of this interview is to assess your communication skills, understanding of the role within the wider context of the data and technology industry, commercial knowledge, alignment to our values, and situational competency.
Training programme FAQs
Kubrick runs new training cohorts approximately every 5 weeks, meaning you can find a start date that best aligns with your availability.
No, you will not be expected to cover your own flights and acommodation if you are joining the training from the US. Kubrick will cover your return flights and accomodation for the duration of your stay, meaning you can focus on gaining the relavant skills required to succeed on site.
If you successfully pass our assessment process and are offered a position, you must obtain a passport prior to travelling to the UK for your training.
All candidates that join our training will be required to remain with us for the full duration of the 2.5-year development period, in return for the salaried training. This will be outlined to you in the training agreement prior to you signing any form of contract.
As a consultancy, we are driven by demand, and this means there may be periods where we are demand constrained. During these times, it may take us longer than normal to place you with a client and you may experience extended periods on the bench. However, we are continuously enhancing the bench experience to ensure you get the most out of your time between client placements.
Our training syllabus is continuously updated to reflect the market, meaning we can’t always provide full details of the four-month training period in advance.
You will be required to pass a series of assessments throughout the four months which are designed to test your knowledge and abilities, plus an additional assessment post-training. If you fail to pass the assessments, your contract with Kubrick will be terminated, however you will not be expected to repay any of the costs associated with the program (as outlined in the training agreement).
You must be available for the full length of the training period as there is a lot to cover in a short duration, and any content missed during your absence will need to be covered in your own time whilst you are learning the new materials. Time off may be allowed however you must obtain approval from a member of Kubrick beforehand.
Your client will be assigned to you by Kubrick rather than self-selecting your own client. We also have clients in various locations meaning you may not be placed within an organization or industry that you would have selected and must be willing to relocate for a role. Whilst we take your preferences into account regarding client placement, we will decide your placement based on demand and where we think you are best suited.
You will be required to interview for your client placement, however we will help you prepare for it.
We will identify clients for you to interview with and handle all elements of the client placement. All you will need to do is interview for it.
When you begin your client placement, it will be your responsibility to ensure you get to know the organization, understand the clients’ needs and desires, understand your role, and the team you will be working in. Although our Consultant Success team will be available to support, it will be your responsibility to ensure you hit the ground running from day one.
Whilst on client placement, your hours and work culture etc will be dictated by the client rather than by us.
During the programme, you may rotate from one client to another. This decision may be led by you or your client, for any number of reasons.
It’s your responsibility to seek out development opportunities and forge your own career path within Kubrick. You will need to make it known to your line manager where you would like to take your career, rather than expecting it to be mapped out for you.
