A global airline engaged Kubrick to reduce out-of-service events because of maintenance issues to maximize its ability to fulfil the timetable of scheduled services, delivering cost efficiencies and increasing revenue by getting more customers to their destinations on time.

The approach
Kubrick’s Defect Resolution AI Assistant speeded up defect diagnosis and resolution while anticipating and optimizing maintenance work that minimized the risk of out-of-service events. To do this, Kubrick:
- Implemented Medallion Architecture and Unity Catalog with Databricks to combine data from across siloed sources, including issue and defect logs, maintenance manuals, live aircraft data, and supply and inventory data.
- Used cutting-edge AI models to analyze and create context-aware recommendations on the most effective fixes.
- Integrated with a user-friendly AI chatbot with Databricks Genie to enable maintenance workers to source accurate resolutions instantly.
- Provided a dashboard suite to enable enhanced reporting and compliance on fleet status.

The impact
