Diversifying Data: Black History Month

In this month’s episode of Diversifying Data, we are celebrating Black History Month.

Host Rakhi Sharma is joined by Client Acquisition Director Keisha Christie-Morgan and Data Product Consultant Alexander Benjamin to explore this year’s Black History Month theme, “Celebrating Our Sisters” which allows us to recognize and applaud the invaluable contributions of black women to society, to inspire and empower future generations.

Our guests share some of their personal experiences as a black person within the workplace at different stages within their career within the workplace, some of the misconceptions of stereotypes they faced along the way as well as some of the inspiring black woman in their life.

Together, Rakhi, Keisha and Alex discuss support within the industry and why conversations around the topic within the workplace are so important as well as what steps organizations and senior leaders can take to have a positive impact on equity.

Lastly, they discuss active allyship and what senior leadership as well as the wider workforce can do to actively show up for the black community or any other minority community.

As Black History month draws a close, it’s important to remember that diversity and inclusion are not simply goals to strive for, but also fundamental components of success. A huge thank you to our guests for taking part in this episode and for sharing their personal insights and experiences.
