After obtaining my mathematics degree from Heriot Watt University, I joined EY’s Tax Technology and Transformation team before moving into their Technology and Data Operations team. Over four years, I worked with various industries and clients and developed strong stakeholder management skills.
I decided to pivot my career into data and technology and was attracted to Kubrick in particular because of their paid training. During the 15 weeks of training, I was exposed to a wide range of tools, technologies, and frameworks, including SQL, Python, Jira, PowerBI, Alteryx, Agile, DevOps, stakeholder management, and requirements gathering. The training combined focused, instructor-led sessions with collaborative project work, supported by knowledgeable and patient trainers, regular assessments, and access to online learning content.
The training was invaluable, giving me both the technical and professional skills needed to thrive on client site. In particular, the stakeholder management and Agile training helped me approach challenges and manage expectations more effectively.
Since completing the training, I’ve continued to develop through training days, Lunch and Learns, and opportunities to gain certifications. The Client Success team and wider Kubrick community also provide ongoing support whenever needed.
